Just to make it official: our cat, Xena is back
after having been missing for exactly ten days.

Apart from being a bit skitty and restless,
she is slowly coming back to her usual disposition.

She lost some weight, but not alarmingly,
and she has no wounds or bruises.

I am giving her a couple of days off.

After that I expect her to return to duty.

Glad to hear that. She looks a little pissed off though. My parents' cat went missing for almost a week. He had never been outside before. My mom figured the coyotes had got him, but a week later there he was in the backyard chewing on some grass. My mom has no idea where he went and how he survived. However, now that his world has expanded, he wants to go out all the time.

She looks pretty good, a touch disheveled, though the picture may be oversharpened.Back to the old sword-and-buckler, eh?

  3. FlaRin says:

To me, it looks like she's saying 'Fuck, yeah!' 🙂

  4. Aqualion says:

She always looks pissed off, when I take pictures of her, and the rag-look of her coat is because she is in-between winter and summer fur. The other cats in the neighborhood have the same scabbish look. Warm weather has come rather late this year. Also, the picture was taken when she just got up from a long nap.

Glad your cat, who is totally not a robot double undercover control of an incredibly handsome megalomaniac, has returned.

Cats don't like being looked at directly. She probably wants to fight your camera.

It's just that sometimes the pointing of a camera means a sudden powerful glare of light, which must be utterly annoying for a cat, since they have double exposure vision, which means the light will bounce off the back of their eyes and go back again. This makes them able to see in the dark, but also makes bright lights very difficult for them. She hates that flash, and she has murder in her eyes long time after.@MikThat would explain her devotion towards bacon.:eyes: :yikes:

Iam so glad to.For this good feeling that the cat ist back i need no translater. Thanks God or nature for the good message.

She does look pissed off 😀 But good to see her being back, she's a nice looking cat

  10. Aqualion says:

She's a pretty cat, but she has this mean look in her eyes. People notice it. She's as friendly as any cat, not shy but reserved. She minds her own business, if you know what I mean. However, she is not particularly friendly toward other cats, especially not tom cats. She does not care for male attention at all.

    As well as Cleo 😀

  12. derWandersmann says:

If you've never seen or heard cats mating, the reason for her dislike of males is probably only amusing to you. But the male's penis is sharply barbed rather like a pine cone or the radula of a sea snail., the barbs pointing toward the base. When it is withdrawn, it hurts the little lady like crazy … not something she's particularly interested in.Turn your sound down a little and observe:

  13. Stardancer says:

I'm so glad Xena returned safe and sound. Best wishes to all of you.

  14. Aqualion says:

I've heard and seen cats mate on many occasions. And fight. It is as if aggression and violence simply is a part of the way they communicate. Watching the behaviour of a litter of almost mature kittens at feeding time is enough to know how it is with cats. Xena is neutered. She does not go into heat, and normally tom cats will not be intrested in females when they are not in heat. The problem with Xena and other cats is strictly territorial. Fortunately she seems to be able to keep peace. I very rarely hear the sound of cat fight, and I never find shreds and pieces of fur lying around. Only one time, last summer, she had a bite wound. Very small, but obviously the mark of a fang.I've seen her in action a few times with some of the toms of the neighborhood. She is as fierce a fighter as she is a hunter.

  15. Aqualion says:

She is not into the sex thing at all. Normally, if female cats come home after having been raped (it's normally what happens), they'd be scared and hide somewhere, licking their backside like crazy. She never did that.

  16. pamelamelitta says:

ich habe gedacht vielleicht bringt sie Babys mit…….aber sie ist ja sterilisiert wie ich las

As with Cleo and other cats 😀

Fucking hell, she has lost some weight. I noticed that in the picture before I saw the words. I'm so glad she's okay.

Quite a bit, so she's on a heavy diet. She's been hitting the tuna today, like I've never seen before, and she sleeps for long periods. Otherwise she's recovering fine, and she's out again. Still prefers my company when out, though. Also, she still sticks to me when inside – unless she sleeps, in which case she doesn't give a flip where I am.

  20. Spaggyj says:

Sidenote: I feel sorry for cats when they mate. It's almost always a screaming, pinning-down thing.

I've seen and heard it, too. I suspect it's evolutionarily part of the selection process … if she's going to mate, at least she's making sure that at least he's got to be strong and fierce enough to beat her up.

I'm glad she's recovering well. It won't be long before she's back to her old self. Originally posted by derWandersmann:

Oh yes, I know, right? :eyes:

  23. Aqualion says:

I like her looks too. Everybody notices this special mix of being definitely feminine with a flirty twist too it and being quite a big and muscular cat with a mean burning fire in the eyes – at the same time! It's been like that from the beginning. When I got her, on the way home she sat in my bag, looking real sweet and kittylike, but then she bit me in the finger, real hard, as if to say 'This is what we do with humans who don't treat us right. Remember that… Pwease…' and back to big, round eyes again. She has not bit me one time since. I have a good memory.

  24. Zaphira says:

I'm so happy to hear that she's back (even though I missed the part where she was actually gone), and I still think she looks absolutely adorable!
